AARON PECK

Aaron is the owner of Elevation Sled Dogs, with 30 years of mushing Aaron has seen a lot of God’s country from behind the runners. Aaron has competed in the Iditarod 10x, and the Yukon Quest 450 2x.

MAYLA HILL

Mayla Hill, although she is just 21 years old, Mayla has almost a decade of experience with sled dogs.  Mayla grew up in northern BC running her trap line with her team of Alaskan Huskies.  Mayla has her sights set on the 2024 Yukon Quest 450

Liam is an experienced guide who has spent years leading in various fields. Recently, he has ventured into the world of mushing, bringing his expertise and passion to working with sled dogs.

Luciel has spent years as a dog trainer, specializing in canine education and behavior. Now, Luciel has transitioned into the world of mushing, combining the deep understanding of dogs with a passion for sledding adventures.

Craig is an experienced globetrotter. Previously a scuba diving guide, he has now embraced the world of mushing. In his second year as a musher, he combines his adventurous spirit with a growing passion for sled dogs.

Nienke Koelman

Nienke has valuable experience in mushing, having worked with sled dogs in Sweden before continuing her journey in this field. Now in her fourth winter as a musher, she brings dedication and expertise to every adventure on the trails.

Big Red

Big Red, the official main lead dog for Elevation Sled Dogs. Big Red is now retired, but his presence in the dog yard is alive and well. Big Red completed the Iditarod 3x and led Aaron to win other distance races throughout his career.

EAGLE

Eagle is not fully retired yet, he is still in there teaching the youngsters how to behave. Eagle has been one of the all time great leaders for Elevation, Eagle led the team into Nome2 times i his long career.

We are now located at Stony Creek in the Ibex Valley,  an easy 45-minute drive on the scenic Alaskan Highway west of Whitehorse.

Our mission is to inspire you with our Sled Dogs. You must see it to believe it! For most people the experience of being around Sled Dogs and riding the runners, is life changing. The dogs bring out our very best and their positive energy is contagious. The dogs help us to put life in perspective and they help us to find true joy in the moment!

THE TEAM AND THE MISSION

We at Elevation Sled Dogs are on a mission! We are working hard everyday to be the very best that we can be. The Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race is 1000 miles across Alaska. The best Sled Dog Teams in the world come together once a year to compete against mother nature and each other to see who can rise to the top.

We believe the impossible, that Elevation Sled Dogs can become the first Canadian team to win the Iditarod. The accomplishment of this goal would align us with our goal of becoming the very best that we can be, and our hope is that we can inspire people of all walks of life to step into their own mission, and become the very best that they can be!
